Has anyone ever kept yoyo loaches with dp's. I love the looks of these guys and an lfs actually has some (I've never been able to find them). I dropped 2-3 tiny trumpet snails in my dp tank a few months back and now have hundreds...this was before I knew trumpets were no good. My dp's never mess with the other tank mates, I can keep an eye out and return them if need be.

I would not mix loaches and puffers in general. The loahes are too likely to out-compete the puffers for snails.

I think folks are having success keeping DPs with kuhilis. I've got 3 Vietnamese loaches with mine, they look kind of like kuhilis.

Yep loaches is another snail eater like RTR stated. Very good keeping a snail population down in a tank. If the DP's is'nt eating the trumpit snails and getting out of control then I dont see any problem but only thing though, the loaches might end up eatin the dp's snails if you are supplying them with another species of small snails that the dps eat.

I dont have yoyo loaches but got Clowns.

When they where tiny i had 1 dwarf in their tank because he was the only one left over and didnt finnip at that time. He even learned how to eat the mts snails thank to the clowns.
Now i wouldnt dare to put him in the same tank as the Clowns. Hes a grumpy old git who likes to nip fins every now and then and my Clowns are twice the size they were. The Alpha Clown can be really tricky so if Grumpy the dwarf would nip i think he would be tossed trough the tank with a single flip of the tail.

So i wouldnt mix them.

I would say Loaches are fine because snails can be fed to puffers by feeding tong, so I would just do that.

I could easily see the loach ripping that snail right out of those tongs!

I stand by original staement, it is a lousy combo.

Why would you want to set a tank with compatibility issues from the get-go? I go to a lot of trouble to set trouble-free tanks. I have never enjoyed shooting myself in the foot.
