http://www.fishbase.org Keep in mind, they only document the fish they catch in the sections they catch them in. There are always more variables.

Anyone know of any documentaries on GSP'S, or on any puffer for that matter? I've tried searching online with no luck.

I think a thorough study of their wild habits is in order.
How much is a flight to Asia?

One thing I don't get is that according to the link PP provided they inhabit freshwater, and salt.

Yes, they do move back & forth but since we can't imitate that without losing our biological support for them, we go with what they do best in.

Captive care of wild-caught fish is purely pragnatic. As PP said, we provide what has been shown to keep them well.

That makes sense, we don't want to kill our beneficial bacteria.

Always true

Knowing the history and circumstances in their wild environments is always interesting to know.

If you want further information on their natural life, biotopes and occurences, you'll also may want to visit at least one university library and get familiar with their search tools etc.. By far not all of the scientific studies are available in the internet, yet.
