Not sure what you're referring to? Is that a growth or something on the tail, it's hard to tell.

That's normal. It's just new growth like all other fish species. You notice it on your fahakas tail because it has a beautiful yellow tail and very large, to where other fish that has more of the transparent look are less noticeable. I notice it more on fast growing fish over slow growers.

Yep, perfectly normal. Why is there no substrate? Let's see a FTS.

i didnt have enough black sand to cover the entire ground, but i just bought some yesterday.
my fahaka is currently living in a 50 gallon tank3' x18"x18" i think i will upgrade to a bigger tank sometime after September, or i'll sell the fahaka before july, im going to university in the following September, so if i go far i need to live in res and couldnt take care of him anymore. very hard decision for me,,,,, going to a better uni or to a uni that i like more, and can keep my fish at the same time..... :( :( :( :( :(

so my fahaka's tail is normal? will the end of the tail have it's color back?
what can i feed him to improve his color?

Soak his foods in Vita-Chem or Zoe vitamins. As long as he's still growing, new growth won't have as much color as the rest of his tail.

i got my 8" fahaka from someone on April 3rd.... i think he didnt eat until now, every night i dump in some food, he doesnt even look at it, so i just leave it and wait till the next morning, some times half of it will be gone i dunno is him that ate the shrimp or my oscars..... im so worry, cuz when i got him he's really fat and now he's normal, will he just stop eating and eventually die? cuz during this week, i make a lot of changes to the tank maybe he's not happy,,,, i added some black sand into the tank and i realize that i dun have enough and i bought more and put it, then i put some drift wood in and planted the tank... what should i do to make him eat???? i even asked the previous owner what food does he usually eat, and i tried the same food too, he didnt eat it as well.

That tank seems too small. What size is it?

My fahaka went on a 3 week food strike after he was moved. What was he eating previously? What foods are you offering him? How was his tank cycled? Could you please post the parameters of his water now?

the tank is about 2weeks but the filter have been running in the other tank for 3~4 months.

See if you can find some live earthworms.

Yep, live food usually do the trick. Frozen krill is the best natural color enhancer there is for yellows, reds, and oranges. That helps mines tails color also. Btw, raising the temp in the tank also helps by perkin up a fishes appetite. About around 82 degrees.
