To feed, or not to feed....

Afternoon all!
My GSP Glock is doing pretty good in his new home and seems happy spending his time in the plants. My research indicates that many people feed their poochfaces once a day, six days a week. Glock ate his first day home, and then the second day, but not the third. I think I should try an every-other-day foodstuffs plan and see how it goes.
I do have a question about foodstuffs: Crab meat....
There is a local seafood shop two blocks from my house and they will sell me half of a fresh crab for $7. Good deal! Now the question... how do I feed this to Glock? Snap off a leg and drop it in? Split the leg so he can get to the meat?
Also, many people have mentioned that they immediately treat for internal parasites upon adopting their wet pet. It this something I should consider? If so, which medication would be recommended?
