I just bought two ghost catfish and just noticed that one is missing part of the bottom fin on his tail and it also appears a little reddish. I didn't notice until i was almost at my house, which was a dumb move on my part for not checking them out before leaving the store. he swims a little funny almost like his tail is a little wighted down, but seems to b getting around okay. Was his fin just nipped? or could it be something more serious? If its something contagious i want to get him out of the tank so your help is appreciated(:

I apologize if this should have been placed in the hospital section, I wasn't sure if fishy as actually sick.

Possible a bacterial infection with fin rot. Will they let you trade him back for a healthy one?

I'm not sure but no harm in trying. should I take the fish out of my community tank until I can take him back to the store?
