Hello! I'm new here!

Hello! My name is Kari (kinda obvious!) and I'm 25, currently unemployed (sucks), living near Portland, OR, and I love puffers!
Let me tell you small story about how I fell in love with puffers. I have been to Hawaii many a time, mostly to visit family, and sadly one time as a funeral for my beloved Grandma. It was this time on the Big Island, in Waikaloa that I had the most magnificent time with puffer fish! I was swimming in a cove at the Hilton where wild fish like to go to be protected from predators. Because it's so protected there are lots of fish in it, and a cute little puffer kept following me around. At first I was very afraid that it was out to get me! The snorkeling guide assured me that it wasn't, and even though these particular puffers see snorkelers all the time they are actually pretty OK in the wild and won't hurt you unless they feel like you're threatening (which most people know.) Well not only was this little puffer infatuated with me, a few of his friends decided to join me in the cove and we swam around for about an hour together. This was not my old encounter with wild puffers. The next year we returned to the Big Island and went on a snorkel cruise that went to Kealakekua Bay. There I encountered lots of wild puffers and box fish! They were all very nice and liked to follow us annoying tourists around! Since then I have swan with many wild puffers in Hawaii and have fallen deeply in love! <3
I currently do not own any puffers, but I would love to! Being unemployed I can't right now (I want to be a good Mom who can afford nice food), so I have been hanging out here on the forum learning lots, and just generally being a lurker.
I look forward to someday being able to own my own sweet little puffer and have enjoyed owning fresh water aquariums in the past. (I have also had a few Afraican Dawrf frogs that I loved very much. My longest one living just over 3 years! His name was Rivers
