One thing I should say is salt differs alot so a specific amount can not be provided. I can help if you have a way of reading gravity. How big is your GSP? was it in fresh water?

He was in salt water @ the store. He is about 2.5 inches long. His housing in the 10 gallon in temporary.
But, I need to know for tonight how to get him into BW, and he will be in BW long term anyway.
THANKS.

I hate to say this, but your puffer may die then. Are there other stores near by, by any chance. other wise I have a possible idea.

What is your idea? I dont want to loose him. I can try to find a store, but honestly, all that is open at this point is chains like Petsmart- and I really don't want to bring him there.

Why do you want to change him from salt water to brackish anyway?

I think they were meaning of getting some water from the store and bringing it home.

The store should be able to measure the water for you.

yah petco/petsmart sometimes have salt tanks. plus I've seen premixed salt water, but thats not cycled so its not a good solution. :?

It doesn't sound like you have a cycled tank for this fish prepared,...if you did you wouldn't be asking these questions.

You need a hydrometer or refractometer to properly measure salinity and you cannot transfer a fish from a properly cycled SW tank to an un-cycled aquarium.

I suggest that you take the fish to a local pet store or find someone that has a proper set up.
