DP has dark lines

Freckles are normal in DPs. How old is the fish? Could she just be maturing?

Sounds like pretty normal coloration for a DP. They can switch from the light backround with the big spots to the darker backround and speckles depending on their mood. Some people say the females are more likely to show the speckled pattern. I've noticed that the two I have that like to pick fights show that coloration while they're doing it. I wonder if it is a more stressed mood? I doubt your DP is sick, though. Perhaps a bit stressed by the other, bigger puffers in the tank. If she continues to eat well and maintain her weight, I wouldn't be too worried. Unless it becomes obvious in other ways that the SAPs are stressing her out.
