I purchased my first puffer today. Cornelius is about an inch in length... I am wondering if anyone who has one can tell me about how fast they grow... Just out of curiosity.
Thanks!

Not very fast, their metabolism seem to be slow, as they don't move much which doesn't require a lot of feedings. I see he was kept with other Congos? Add Melafix to heal all those bites.

What kind of substrate is that. It looks sharp & jagged.

He actually has been swimming around his tank a lot for the past day and a half just chasing after ghost shrimp. But its fine sand just a really up close picture. Yes, he was kept with other congos before I got him.

Cute fella!

The sand does look a little course to me (could just be the close-up!). If he does not bury himself, I would think about going with something finer.
