it is a true cray but the appendages label it as "lobster". I don't know much about the breeding habits as of yet. We're still in the research stages of the site. There are 2 way it can go... it can keep the offspring until they are ready to mature or they can release them into the open and hope they survive. Most FW species keep them with the female. SW tend to release them.

I have never kept one myself but "blue lobster" are not one of the self cloning species. They can store sperm (as noted in the previous post) for quite a while, giving the imitation of being "virgin born". This is actually a self preservation method, where they store the sperm and when conditions dictate they fertilize.

I can never find marbled here but I manage to get the red claw Cray to berry and now, I have a tank full of mini crays too!
