I have two stars and stripes puffers that are about 3.5" and i have had the one for over 6 months and they are only that size... is this normal? I went to LFS and they had a big S&S and the guy said he was probibily 6months old... what gives?

i feed krill, squid, mussles and enriched brine... mostly krill every other day

any suggestions?

How big is the tank? Water parameters?

In my experience they can reach their adult size in about 2.5 years given proper care in captivity. If this corresponds with their growth rate in nature I do not know.

180g, all levels good, sg 1.020, FOWLR tank

so i can expect them to grow to full size as they would in the wild in a 180g tank?...or at least close to full size...

I do hope that, but I don't know... the tank I am talking about had 800 gallons.

I think not, as 180 is the bare minimum recommended.

You are going to need a bigger tank if you want him to get to 17 + inches.

Motomatt86 do you have both of them in the 180g tank? 180g is good for a singleton.

That is the bare minimum for an adult singleton.
