Hi there- long time reader, first time poster.

I have a 160 gallon tank with two fish: a Fahaka (10+- inches) and a Pleco (12+- inches). There are no other fish or invertebrates in the tank. I have had both fish for over 3 years now (since they were babies) and today I got a surprise of eggs! I'm not sure which one laid the eggs, but after searching around on the forums, it seems that the Puffer eggs are usually small and numerous, while I have 10-15 eggs the size of marbles. Some seem to be in sacks with other ones. Has anyone seen this before with either fish? I've been outta town so I didn't actually get to see what happened. :(

But my female fahaka commonly ate her dumped eggs - it may well be both - eggs in poo.

If you or your substitute care-giver did not feed pellets (which should have dissolved in the gut anyway) or some such, eggs in poo have been seen before. Was the fish fatter before you left? Especially toward the rear of the body and toward the sides?

Watch for it to happen again... It is possible

But it could have been pleco eggs, but those are actually as uncommon as puffer eggs.
