New Puffer Keeper! :)

I am a new Puffer keeper as of yesterday.
I was able to find a Fahaka Puffer on Craigslist yesterday, and I drove 2 hours to pick him up.
He's about 14", and he's already settled in and very personable.
I'm not new to fish however; I am currently in school to be a vet where I am specializing in fish. I am also a Certified KHA (koi health advisor)- I have several fish tanks which are from all over.

It's great you had a large
cycled tank ready for that guy! Do you have a cave for him?
We need more fish vets in this world.

No, I currently do not have a cave for him, but I am looking for something in which to use.
He's large, so my typical idea of flowerpots isn't gonna work this time.

That is one nice looking fish! You're definitely going to enjoy him.
Hope you have a nice HEAVY lid for the tank

Wow he's a big guy and I love his amount of yellow and the stripes running down under his belly.

Hey PP, is that real driftwood or artificial? It's kinda hard to tell from pics.

He is 14"+ inches, and I have a flower pot he could fit into, but hubby stated this morning he is going to make something for him so he can be nice and cozy.
The lids for this tank were made by us... we got the tank, but it didn't have any lids, and its an odd dimension tank, so no practical glass lid will fit, so we took 2 pieces of glass to fit on on each side. They are soooo much heavier than the glass lids, so no worries there.

mshill, that fahaka is beautiful. By the pic, he does look like a monster. I was thinking about getting a large piece of driftwood (as a cave) for my fahaka when he gets alot bigger. Mine only uses his cave when he sleeps, most of the time he's very active.

The driftwood in the middle is real wood. The mangrove "caves" are these:
