hi

i have a full marine system, its all run well, i am converting it to a brackish tank for GSP, can i keep anyof this or do i need to replace,
i have live sand, live rock,
do i need to clean the filter out and start again, do i need to skim a brackish tank?

or can i just fill with new water at brackish salt levels, and continue with the filter and sand as are just remove the rock and add plants?

why would you convert to BW?

I'm no expert on GSP's but most people end up converting to SW for them.

because i see a mixed bag of what i can and cant keep the gsp in, the ones in the lfs are only 1 inch and people keep telling me its too small for marine, and must be brackish, but the salt level will be tooo low for live rock and live sand, so must make this a brackish set up? plus brackish is easier to maintain than marine,

Marine should be easier & cheaper to maintain than brackish. I would stick with marine & drip acclimate your new GSP up to marine.

daffydase this is confusing. In the other thread you stated that you had an empty 200l (52g) tank. That is why it was suggested that you cycle the tank to the SG that the GSP was in at the LFS, which was brackish. Have you got the 200l tank already set up and cycled at marine? If so do you know how to drip accumulate?

i read another thread before
and you should be able to keep the GSP in marine without a problem even at 1"
i had mine in full marine at 1.5" in
