i have a 4-5 inch blue spotted toby puffer, who can i house him with.......puffer wise??

valentine, gsp, another blu spotted, white spotted?

mine is very relaxed and he is not a fin nipper, i rescued him from the shop, he was given as he was in an aggressive tank and someone had taken chunks out of his side, he was made better but no one showed an interest...so i have taken him in, but would like to keep someone in with him, and puffers are my favorite fish by a long shot!!!!

i have a 150Litre tank so i reolise no monster size ones like dog or porcupine..
many thanks

Definitely not a GSP. That tank isn't big enough. You could try another toby but maybe see the disposition of it 1st.

Tobies are extremely territorial by nature and WILL attack other tobies on their turf. Your toby has already established the tank as 'his' territory; should another toby suddenly appear, he would feel compelled to 'remove' the intruder. As far as I know, the only puffers that will tolerate one another are the green spotted, but even then they reserve the right to kill each other because they were having a bad day or woke up cranky.

Instead, how about a starry eyed blenny? They're a bit more aggressive than a lawnmower and therefore better suited for standing up to a pufferfish, plus they'll clean up any algae and uneaten frozen shrimp in your aquarium.
