The great advantage to these fish is that they are short-lived; by the time I'm ready to move house again, they will all have died of old age. I can have these fish without worrying about stressing them out with moving or worrying about keeping the filter alive during the car trips. I also get to have all the fun of raising fry! I'm only going to hatch out some of the eggs; I can't house 50 fish, and the LFS doesn't carry killis and wouldn't buy them. Too bad - they're a great store that I'd actually trust with my babies. I can save the rest of the eggs and hatch more of them later, though.

xrayjeeper83 - No more than one male per 10g, and each male can be kept with a couple females. I'm going to have two females - maybe three if my research says it's fine. I guess it depends on how many of each gender I actually get. (I'll have to give a couple males away, I suppose, but I found a GREAT local aquarium club, so I can find them homes, I'm sure.) It'll be understocked, but I don't have anything else so short-lived, so they'll just enjoy really good water quality. I'll probably add a few ghost shrimp once they're settled in, since after I break the tank down I can house them with Vlad. I've been meaning to get a few ghosties for his tank anyway.

Flutter - I'll try! I'm visiting home right now, and I'm heading back to the sticks early tomorrow afternoon. I haven't tried accessing the forum from my Kindle yet... I'll definitely take pictures of the fry! The projected hatch date is Feb. 4. (I mean, they can hatch earlier or later, but that's the day they'd hatch if they were still in water, I think? Possibly also the best day for hatching? I'm not 100% sure. Still working out the kinks here.)
