Ammonia is dropping!!

Ok, I tested the ammonia and it's down to between a 0.50 and 1.0. Of course not ideal but such a huge drop from 5-7 over the last few days. Thank God I didn't listen to the fish store and just "ride it out!!" They seem to think water changes will just make my cycling start all over again. The two big WC yesterday are probably what helped the most but maybe the Bio Spira helped too overnight. Stimpy is swimming around and active even though he is a little gray off and on and didn't want his food. It is crappy flakes and pellets so maybe he's trying to tell me he needs good stuff to get healthy again. Hopefully if he made it through the rough part he will bounce back since he is now the only one in the tank.

So do I do another small water change today or let the Bio Spira stay in there and grow? I would love to get the ammonia to 0 by tonight if possible.

Thanks so much to all of you who have given me advice. Time will tell but you may have saved my last little puffer from certain death!! :D

That's great :) I agree with Stimpy, he needs better food ;) Many fish love bloodworms, shrimp is another favourite. Beyond that it depends on personal taste.
