Can feeding a GSP the tails of a supermarket bought frozen shrimp keep their teeth down?

IME, shell0-on shrimp may help, but they are not sufficient without other, harder materials such as bivalves.

When we have shrimp cocktail in this family (especially around the Holidays) it is a given that all the tails go into a cup for the puffers. Although uncooked is best, the partial feeding of cooked won't hurt my guys.

Do any of you know where to get feeder snails?

I haev fed my GSP uncooked shrimp. It loves them, but they offer no help in maintaining its teeth. So you must include something harder now and then. IMO get Malasian Trumpet Snails, raise them is a separate tank and feed the young to your GSP when the young are about the size of a pencil lead. I feed my GSP the young snails using a long focepts (tweezers), holding the snail by one end so the GSP can see it and be interested. It works.

Around here I have 2 Petsmarts that always have snails in their tanks that they give me for free. Pond, Ramshorn, MTS. They are such drones that they can't do anything about it except scoop them out. I even offered to give them an Assassin as a demonstration and they "couldn't".
Oh well.... nice to have a source if I miscalculate on my requirements.

+1, PetSmart always seems to be overrun with them.

+1 to petsmart as well, they have 3 or 4 tanks connected and have holes for water, so they can't help that the snail jump tanks. Once one has um they all have um
