Yello Guys

What would you recommend that I can use to seal or coat driftwood so i could use it as a decoration in my marine tank.


Ive thought of:
Fibreglass resin - too expensive
Silicons - but I believe they will detiriorate a lot quicker and my puffer will deifnitely chew em off the wood
Pond Sealer? - pros and cons?
Araldite? - is that even an option


Which one (or any other suggestions) would work best to this project?

Be keen to hear what everyones got to say

do I even need to bother with coating it

or will a well bleached driftwood will just do fine???

I never had a chance to use it, but people at one of the cichlid forum use it all the time.

I found out about using epoxy resin when bounding my 3d background (that never got done)

i have used untreated driftwood in my marine tank for years with no issues. It began in brackish but has since moved to full marine. completely covered in some type of algae tho

SW really eats up driftwood quickly.

oh cool... Do u have a picture... Can i have a look at your full tank

Buy artificial if you must have the driftwood look.

I agree strongly w/PP - marine conditions and critters see driftwood out fast, with pollution of the water a non-tivial factor. NIMFT.
