Brutal. Just yesterday I stumbled across some of these vids of cooking and eating live fish on youtube. Again, pretty disturbing.

wow i would think that would make the meat taste bad, just like deer meat doesnt taste as good if its been running from a dog due to the adrenaline that is pumping threw its body

I also see live puffers being chopped up alive on the cutting board

A similar process is done with dogs - yes dogs. I thought the pile of discarded, skinned dogs that I was seeing on TV, was dead - but then one raised its head. That image will haunt me forever. Its hard to try & understand other cultures sometimes.

Many fur animals are skinned alive too. After seeing the movie, Earthlings, 4 years ago, I haven't eaten a mammal since. Wish I could cut out poultry too, but I have to eat some protein.

I hate animal cruelty with a passion, honestly, I do... But I could never give up my steaks!
PP, you can get your protein from other sources if you wish.... Just thought I'd throw that in.

I think doing a little (cutting out one or two things) is a great thing to do. Animal rights activist always want people to go full vegan, but honestly the vegan lifestyle does not come natural to most people. We were raised on meat, it is not something we can just completely give up.
I don't eat pork or fish (I will eat crabs)
I don't eat pork becuase when I was a child I saw a "farmer" pushing and hitting a pig with a broken leg with a stick into one of those trucks that carry pigs to the slaughter house.
I don't eat fish because when I was a child (6 or 7) I had a pet fish, a glow light tetra-I think. My parents refused to buy anything for him no heater, no lid, nothing. I put my toys in for him to "play" with. But that dang fish lived forever. I always wondered why it lived so long, as an adult I learned about water changes and then I knew why the fish lived so long. Since it did not have a heater, every morning I would take out some of his water and put in warm water. Sometimes I did that twice a day LOL. Anyways I would not eat fish because I had a pet fish.
The point is, we can't all be vegans but cutting out one or two things is equally commendable

If animals were treated kindly, given a good life & slaughtered painlessly, I'd eat them.

Just consider how lucky we are to be living in a culture that for the most part values animal life. One of the things I hear from my sargent and friends that are either serving overseas or just returning is how the animals are treated (And woman for that matter).
For the most part this isn't done because they are bad people, they just sadly dont view animal or fish life the way we do.
Oh, did I mention I sell commerial fishing gear for a living *cough* dont tell my pet fish... Lol

thats ridiculous
^^ like you said, i dont understand sometimes
but i dont see how someone could even be able to do that
stcking a knife into the flesh of a living thing is ridiculous and how he can sleep at night is a mystery because i know i would be so freaked out and disappointed in myself
i have a couple friends who are vegan and i knew what it was, but i guess never really understood it
it makes you think what has to be done to put a meal in front of you
