He's so handsome! He must be really happy with you, showing off those bold colors so quickly after moving in!

Just seen a few of these today and started thinking about one for my self :)

When you say pet rock..... to what extent? I was reckoning that they would stay still most of the time but then when they started to recognise you around the tank they might start to greet you? Or do they just lurk for food and then pounce as it were?

Beautiful fish either way :)

theres no real movement out of mine at all
the only part that moves is its eyes lol
it doesnt go after food either.
it only eats if you put food into its mouth.
they are pretty much immobile 99% of the time
they are lovely fish, im just used to a puffer with more action lol

I set up an entire 46g SW tank for the beautiful T ocellatus & all I ever see are shifting eyeballs in the sand. Unless she's hungry, about 6pm every night.

LOL, That's a tiny baby you have Lesley.....lol. Gotta spoon feed him all the time. And too bad he's a puffer because you would be getting up and bottle feed him about every 3 hrs or so...

Have you tried rearranging the tank? One thing I noticed with my ocellatus is that he needs enrichment. He gets bored of his tank after a while, but if I rearrange the decor he brightens up and explores everything. They seem to be much smarter than the average goldfish.

That's a good point... Do you know where I can buy 2 or 3 pounds of life rock online? Everywhere I look sells it in more weight than I can carry!
