Pufferless.

I just dropped Thumbelina and some other critters off at the post office. I am pufferless now.

I'll find out if she's safe tomorrow afternoon. :( I shipped her Express with insulation and a heat pack and breather bags so that she won't be exposed to an air pocket in the bag. I even added a bag of blackworms to keep her extra-well-fed when she arrives. My mom would kill me if she knew how much that cost!

She's going to a very good friend in Connecticut who's got two options for her - a 10g or a 33g. The 10g is cycled but empty ATM, and the 33g has Endlers. She'll try the 33g, since Thumbelina has always been easygoing, but if she eats the fry, she'll be moved to the 10g to keep her diet free of vertebrate protein. Hopefully she keeps up her reputation as a pacifist; I bet she'd love all that space.

It was a good two years, little girl. :(

That's very sad but I'm so happy that she's going to a new home. Hopefully that helps to comfort you :)

Oh, Julee's a better fishkeeper than I'll ever be. She'll never miss a water change or a meal. Julee's wonderful with animals. It's the best home I could have hoped for.

Julee has reported that Thumbelina made it to CT stressed but fine. She's acclimating to the 33g, and Julee's gushing about the cuteness. :D

Julee's declaring it love already. I think she's been bitten by the puffer bug!

No. It'd defeat the purpose of rehoming Thumbelina. I'm only taking one permanent tank, plus one plastic bin and heater for quarantine/hospital/foster purposes.

ETA: Julee tells me that the 33g is 7/8 full of java moss. Thumbelina is following her around, mostly hidden in the moss, but sticking her head out here and there.
