Issues with puffer and hydroids from LR?

I've recently started my first FOWLR tank with 8.5lbs LR. I'm just identifying LR hitchhikers... at least one tiny tunicate, a reddish bristleworm, some green-branchy macroalgae. What I'm worried about looks like a hydroid... it's on a stalk and has arms radiating out like spokes of a wheel. I can't take a picture of mine; it's small enough that I see it only with a light and a magnifying glass. There actually looks like three right next to each other.
Has anyone had problems with their puffers eating or being stung by hydroids in their reef or FOWLR tanks?
