Article on Tetraodon baileyi

I found this after reading the article that PC posted about the diet of SAP's. Thought someone might want to add some extra info about the Hairy puffer (Tetraodon baileyi).

PP, I read the article and thought it was wild how a hairy puffer can live in the rapids. Never owned this species but still want one someday.

I found that interesting too. Stuffs themselves into a crack, so they don't get blown away. No wonder they like caves.

It also serves as a waning that tanks for such fish should be very well oxygenated. Rapids dwellers tend to be accustomed to high O2 levels. Some will not suffer from lowered o2 levels, but it is impossible to predict - better safe than sorry.

Never thought about that. Maybe a good powerhead with added oxygen to it could help serve this purpose. Or even a wavemaker that is not too strong but give a rapids effect?
