I have 1 gsp in a 55 gal tank and just wanted to know if it was a big enough tank to add one more puffer to the tank. If it is then should i just get another gsp or can i get a different species like the figure 8 or something

You can add fish, but I wouldn't mix species. F8 and GSP require different levels of salt.
Ceylon may be a choice, but the tank would be too small :/
Maybe some gobies?

When you get that puffer up to SW, you can add a tomato clownfish or a few damselfish.

If I were you I would wait until your at full marine before adding tankmates, you have more options then.
Remember that 55 gallons is the minimum for 2 GSP...by that I mean 1 gsp per 55 is probably more accurate.
I am having trouble now with have 2 per 55, It is just not big enough for nerf footballs with attitude.

I am a roomy tank nut. Someday the hobby will learn that 55s are not big tanks. Personally I would not keep two GSPs in less than a 75, and would likely use a 120. But I am a little neurotic about water quality - to put it mildly.
