Hello, I have an empty 180 and think I would like a Fahaka. I have a Porc. and he is awesome, very interactive, are F/W puffers like the Fahaka the same?? Do they have "personality"?? any advice about their care and feeding etc?? 180 is big enough yes?

oh yea... but they are jumpers.
search them out and you'll find many references to a HEAVY secure lid.

What? Jumpers? I didnt have a canopy on my tank for like ... 3 years, when he was about 4-6 inches long i always use to hand feed him and he wouldnt stick nothing but his beak outta the water. He would sometimes get excited and surf the tank and splash water everywhere but these days he sticks to his castle... i find the bigger they get the more *leave me alone* attitude they get! Then again i did move him 2300kms in a 10 gallon tank that was in my back seat to a 55 gallon that was cycled then 2 months later moved him ounce again only about an hour drive to where he sits in his old home... He's had quite the journey but has been quite well... still chewing up bubblers.... and chewing on fake bamboo and hating danios!! LoL
Id say go with a fahaka if you like! They have interesting personality and are quite the fish to keep around! A bit shy to new people i find but grow to know (if they can see) where the food comes from. Everytime i walk to the fridge he knows whats going on LOL ... but he hasnt quite grown to the new stainless fridge .. LoL Good luck with your decision!
*cheers*

To keep a strong swimming, fast, large fish without a cover is an exercise in stupidity IMHO. Yes, I have done so, and yes, I have lost wonderful fish from doing so. I may be slow sometimes, but I do learn.
