I am going to be getting a new house in jan, so I have to move the beast. I plan on setting up my 2 55g spare/qt tanks at the new house in advance to let them circulate the salt mix over night, then use my 5g buckets and rubber maids to put my fish and LR in and move them to the 55's. After that I will drain the main tank scoop out the sand into 5g buckets, move it to the new house...set it back up, put the sand back in fill it up with fesh new pre mixed water. After it settles down then move the LR and fish back into the main tank. It is across town so a one way drive is 45min, how much die off (ammonia) should I expect from the sand bed? also any input, advice or tips you guys might have would be much appreciated.

I moved a 120 gallon 35 miles and had very little die off in my sand. All I did was scoop it out in to 5 gallon buckets, I added a little water at each quarter of the bucket to make sure that the sand stayed moist.
