Hey guys! So i current own a GSP in a 26 gallon high brackish tank. I have been thinking about getting two DP's for a while now to put into my Fluval Edge aquarium. I used to have a goldfish in there but he was rehomed to a 55 gallon with other goldfish at a friends house and is super happy! My edge has been cycled and running since february and currently has one khuli loach (who i have had for 13 years!) and a bamboo shrimp. Im wondering if two DP's would be ok in this set up. It is HEAVILY planted, with lots of places to hide and break the line of site. If i got two, should i get two females or one female and one male? My LFS has 3 or 4 right now and i was thinking of going after school to pick one/two up. I would like to get two, but if it a really bad idea then i will stick with one. I can post pics of the tank later, i am not at home right now.

The Edge is a 6g tank, right? If so I would only get a single DP. Wow, I didn't realize khuli loachs lived that long. I currently have 3 black khulis and 3 ghost shrimp in with my 2 DPs and all is well so you should be fine.

And yeah, please post some pics when you get a chance.

Yeah the edge is 6.7 gallons so I'm thinking one is probably better. I'm going to pick one up after school and I will take pictures when I get home. If I can I will get a female since they tend to be less aggressive. I can't wait!

They will probably be too young to sex but get one with a nice plump belly and that smashes it's little face against the glass to look at you.

Aggression should not matter since you only have room for one tho. But like was said in a previous post they will likely be too young to be sexed.

Well i got myself a little boy!! I watched them swim for a while and they ALL were super friendly, came right up to the glass and followed my finger! and when the guy got mine out he swam right up to the top (probably begging for food). Im thinking it is a boy. He appears to have orangeish yellow coloration on his belly, and a few small "wrinkles" around his eyes. He is young so i could be wrong. He has been in my tank for about 2 hours now exploring and loving it. I just fed him blood worms and his belly is full! Here are some pictures of my tank and of my new addition, whom i have decided to name Squirt! He is so friendly i am so happy. He comes right up to the tank when i come over. He is going to have to get used to my tank because the opening where i feed him is not the front like a normal tank he keeps swimming up to the front when i stand there. But he will learn quickly im sure! Oh how i love puffers!

Looks great! I'm going to guess that it is a male because of the dark yellow coloring on him. IME and from what I've read this is a good sign of a male. Also though he is pale right now it looks like his spots are forming a line towards his tail, another possible sign of a male.

When you originally said "Edge" the feeding through the top was the first thing I though of. He'll figure it out.

I've got a pretty big piece of anubius--takes up a good portion of the center of the tank, so sometimes I can't find them, unless they are looking for me. ;)

I'm gonna have to learn to tell them apart before I name them. I'm thinking I see a wrinkle behind of one of their eyes.

Nice planted tank and cute lil DP's. Love how good looking those plants looks. Something I had problems with, trying to grow good looking live plants.

thanks fade. the main plant in there is water sprite. I got it about a month ago and it has gone crazy! it started off as one plant and then its branches grew new root systems so i plucked them and i planted them. Its super easy to take care. i havent done anything special and it just keeps growing! I like it because there are lots of little places for my DP to hide/explore.
