Scratches on the fish tank glass?

Hey guys, I know I haven't been on in awhile.
Last time I checked in was about my canister filter.
Well, I have re-sealed my 55gal tank, and I am ready to put water in tomorrow

I am just going to re-paint the shelf it came with first. So I have another day or two with no water.
My question is, is there anyway I can rid of the scratches on the glass? There aren't to many, but I am so proud of the work I have done so far. I might as well try to rid of any scratches if possible. I read something about toothpaste?
Thanks

I used toothpaste and it definitely helps. I just gooped it onto my fingers and rubbed massaged it in.

Really? Any kind of toothpaste?
I just rub it on the scratches, and then what, rinse it off?
I find it unbelievable hahaha.
Are we talking little Tiny I can see them but not feel them scratches, or even a little bigger?

toothpaste and a microfiber cloth will help buff out small scratches.

I wouldn't count on removing noticeable scratches by yourself...Especially on tempered glass. IMO the best thing to do is face the side with the fewest scratches to the front and slide your light a little towards the rear if possible.
Good luck.

Many small scratches on dry glass all but vanish when the tank is filled.
It is possible to buff out minor scratches, but don't expect the glass to look new - it won't.
It is cheaper to replace tanks than to have the glass professionally buffed.
