DPs having hard time eating blood worms

when i feed my DPs, they suck the blood worm in halfway and try to chew, but they keep spitting it and try to re eat it but they cant keep it in their mouths. Even with smaller pieces they keep spitting it out and trying to re eat it. Is there anything I can do to make it easier for them to eat?

are their teeth over-grown? how do they do with snails?
you might try a different brand of bloodworms.
I picked up some that were really large and all my fish found them tough to chew. When I switched back to the smaller ones there was no problem

That's how most puffers eat, even the giant species.

I have had a really hard time trying get my Dp on to frozen food.
The live bloodworms my DP seems to swallow whole but the frozen food is done in the way you mention; by swallowing and the throwing it up again.
I have now found that today I have bought frozen Tubifex and my Dp seems to like them a lot more than the frozen Bloodworm.
Hopefully this will be it!! Probably another false dawn knowing my cheeky fish!
