I hope they are still alive and he can take them back to the store (or a better store than where he she got them)

It makes me so mad, I would give my right arm for a ceylon...they are very hard to find...and this guy wound up with 2 pretty healthy looking specimens

I am crossing my fingers and hoping that he put them in the betta bowl while he was getting a bigger tank ready..

I've found that when someone is doing something not so... intelligent... you will get the best results by being helpful and respectful. If you aren't like that then more often than not they'll go on the defensive and they won't take in anything that you said.

Normally, in real life I agree with you. I do. Most of the time I see a video I leave a polite comment like,"You have a nice tank, but that puffer will need something bigger soon". I get it.. more flies with honey. Most people are simply misinformed and put a GSP in a 10 gallon, but they do care about the fish.

But when someone does something like this, it is a selfish act on their part. Even if he knows nothing of fish keeping he could see that bowl was too small for half-grown ceylons.

Their thoughts are 100% "in my world, I can do what I want with this fish"..he even blames their dying/discomfort on the fish saying "they did not acclimate". What he has done is above and beyond simply not knowing. We have all made mistakes and done some stupid things, but the most of us did have good intentions

He killed/is going to kill more animals..That in my opinion needs a swift kick in the..

And for the other people who might view his video, they need to know what this guy did is not only wrong, but is abhorred.

We can't help but get emotional and angry. Can you be polite to the person who abused a kitten?

This guy will probably delete our comments..and will act like a big jerk..because he needs to save face on the internet...but my hope is...is that the message will stick with him much longer than being polite..make him see is narcissistic ways

From know on (if he has a soul), when he is at the fish store.."the last time I did that I really ticked some people off, maybe I should re-think that"

i believe these are Ceylon Puffers, a species of Tetraodon.

Sad to realize the fact that these fishes did not acclimatise."

That to me says that they died.....

i watched this video as well. and couldnt believe the size of bowl the puffers were in,
i emailed the guy and got this response.

'I should be accused of being a fool by not doing proper research before trying to keep them as pets. The Puffers came to me as a surprise and i was least knowledgeable about their needs.

i got them from the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi, Kerala, India. The fishermen here dislike these fishes so much that once they catch them they will kill them as they presume the Puffers would bite into their fishing nets and tear them open.

I was deeply pained when i saw the fishermen stamping on the Puffers to burst them and get them killed and i pleaded them to give the remaining two puffers so that i could keep them as pets at home.

I would highly appreciate it, if you could spare your time to tell me what are the important aspects that should be kept in mind to keep Ceylon Puffers as pets. I wish to be educated on how to keep the puffers healthy. If time permits; please, enlighten me.

Thanking you for the same.'

I dont know much about ceylon puffers, do you think i should direct him here to the puffer forum for advice?

Yes direct him here. If what he says is true he was just responding to the crualty he was witnessing, The fact he didn't have the knowledge to go further is sad but I applaud him for stepping in. People all over the world stand aside and watch while a person is beaten to death. We need more people willing to step up and say STOP this unacceptable. We need to help educate not judge.
Sorry if I have offended anyone I really didn't mean to , Honest
