Hi,
Am getting 3 figure 8 puffers for my forty gallon aquarium. I am also interested in goby's, so how many bumble bee goby's could I keep with three figure 8 puffers.

I keep BB gobys with my Figure Eight with no problems. I suggest that you try adding some guppies or mollies first tho to test your F8's temperament's.
Also, I would stick with only 2 puffers in a 40 .....and you need high filtration for puffers....even with 50% weekly water changes.
with good filtration,...you could support quite a few BBG's. Just keep in mind that they can be very aggressive,...nippy.
good luck

I would be a bit apprehensive to keep them with more than one F8. I'm just thinking if the puffers start competing for food, the BBGs might accidentally be on the menu. Also, Making sure the BBGs get their food will be harder with multiple F8s in the tank. I'm going to move my gang from the 29g to a 46g soon and I keep considering adding another F8 to the mix, but I keep coming back to the same decision to keep a singleton.
Whatever you decide definitely do not keep 3 in a 40g, that would be way too crammed.
