Hmmm is he sulking because?

Earlier last week I rearranged Nooki's tank and added more plants because I thought he was getting bored. Now I seem to have made things worst. He sits in the corner or in the pipe that was where his root was and doesnt even beg for food. Today he has refused food which is an absolute first. I have since restored the tank to what it was with additional plants (which will probably make it worse still) but do we reckon if water params are spot on then this could be cause of his sulkiness? He has even refused his favourite worms! He currently has odessa barbs as tankmates but they have been there a real while now so nothing new..I didnt think the change would affect him as he had taken to sleeping in the left side of the tank amongst plants for a while.

Well I went and sat with him for half hour and he kept pressing his belly at me and lips. He looks like he has rubbed a little bit of skin off his nose silly fellow. Tried more cockle and worm, but nope, so will try again tomorrow..Mummy is so bad to him! Oh no Abe sulked?! LOL - Oh no he ate some!!! Nooki ate one barb at the beginning and never seen. Oh and forget there are 4 tiny neons also, never bothered with these either, I know this will change perhaps down the line..
Will keep posted and hopefully he will eat tomorrow, fingers crossed..

Mine is in a sulky mood recently, sometimes he'll flat out refuse food and is displaying behaviour very similar to yours. He may eat half a meal and then refuse the rest or take a while to get going. Like half an hour before he'll even go near the food.

Well ding ding for day 2 round of sulking. My partner even crushed fresh garlic to soak the food and give that a try but nope. I know they can sulk for lengthy times and also go up to two weeks without food. I plan to go get live feeder shrimp over the weekend as ultimate get him to feed plan. Im also having problems with the miurus but then again he has had 3 large massive river shrimp over the weekend so in his case just think he is so tiny he doesnt need the food right now.

Some puffers just don't handle changes very well. My suvatti is one of them. He really gets grumpy (or rather, more grumpy) if something changes.

i think maybe leaving him to get hungry over a few days may be good for him amy?
sometimes when you keep sticking food in their face, makes them more resistant to eating,
its like that with my dog who can lose weight at any change, and doesnt like food pushed in her face
maybe leaving him alone for a day or so to get used to changes in tank may bring him round sooner?
he will start eating again soon lol
as long as he doesnt start to look thin
ur like me, i would worry senseless if abe stopped eating
the wee bugger had another one of the neons

Thanks for the advice guys and think it is time to back off. He is a bit chub to begin with so leaving him until the weekend wont hurt, I will watch for any tell tale signs of parasites or illness though.
Oh lesley not another one! LOL, he just cant help himself. They may be too small and tempting or just something exciting and new??

Just a small update and still not eating, ordered some more of his favourite foods and wondering whether to go live shrimp or crab next to tempt him.. I also remember this week was the first week I didnt do his water change on the exact same day every other time so his mum isnt doing well on the keeping him happy front lol
