i cant get my puff to eat snails?he likes his krill and he seems pretty set on it.hes ate 1 ??
ive tried crushing sticking in the krill he eats around it.ok what am i missing,the first thing he goes for on the krill is the eyes.should i try a live meal?he likes to hunt,but i just got him back to normal after housing a couple mollie fry in his space.just keep trying the snails or just let him eat his krill and squid?his beak is not overgrown he eats hes happy.now i have a gazillion little snails,it seems like every day when i turn lite on in snail tank there is like 50 more,i guess icould feed them to my koi and comet they are garbage cans just wanted to know if that is normal or i need to try harder to get puff to eat his crustaceans.

I would cut back on the krill a bit and just drop in five or so snails. Let him figure it out, his instincts will kick in soon enough.

I agree....stop feeding the krill and he will come around. Don't worry, he wont starve to death. As long as you are providing the food he is used to,...he is less likely to try anything else.

yeah i would ditch the krill and not start feeding it again. i believe it can cause lock jaw over time. there are many other options like frozen shrimp from the grocery store but thawed well before feeding, squid your feeding is good, clams on the half shell(again i would freeze to kill any nasties they might come with and defrost well before feeding), mussell(mine does like these though), scallops(mine doesnt like these either), crab legs, lobster etc

or crush a snail.. and see how that works

you could try to get a little bit of crab leg and crush it with a hammer

rub a little garlic on the snails, the puffers love the stuff
