Ahem....Now, without meaning to cast aspersions...I mean, this is 2006, we have civil marriages for same-sex couples, and you can even buy size 13 stilettoes for men who are in touch with their feminine side but...
Robert's gut is huge....very huge, and a few months ago it suddenly shrunk and I thought he had IPs and so dosed him with a wormer..but his gut has again reached Tony Soprano proportions...I've a vague memory of RTR describing this happening in F8s.
Is Robert an egg-laden chick?

I think so...I mean, the shrinkage in his gut last year happened over a couple of days, and I think it's gonna happen again soon, as he's looking very lumpen.

LOL! It could be... It happened more obviously with my female Fafaka, but I have seen it on F-8s multiple times. Strangely, none was on a young fish, all definite adults - how old is Robert/Roberta?

S/he is just a tad over 3", and I've had them 18 months now - they were all about 2" when I first got them, so I reckon s/he's fully grown.
Also, his (?) appetite is a lot more rapacious than Mags'...poss cos he's eating for 200. Mags has a healthy appetite, but Robert's just has that edge.
Damn...also, I have spotted driving behaviour...Mags driving Robert...but that's not happened for a while. I know they most likely won't breed, but nature will always have a go.

Mine seem to have quite the belly, even if fed every 3 days.

I am convinced that out of my three Ceylon's, one is definitely a girl and the other two are boys.

Several reasons:
1. Her tummy doesn't go down when the other two tummies are flat.
2. She is rounder on the sides even when her tummy downs down.
3. She is a great scavenger (I see that in the irrubesco girls too) and can find food at places the boys will miss.
4. She gets chased by the boys but is not nipped. The boys chase and nip each other.

The guys could find the food also but they are too proud to stop and ask for directions!

Interesting observations and theory. Hopefully these or other observations will eventually lead us to a viable method of sexing these creatures.

Actually, although I have never been able to describe it well, the fatness of the later confirmed females is different in appearance from "normal" large meal or too many large meals in appearence, as Cindy pointed out, the distribution is different.

Right...I've got loads of pics on my phone, so if I email one of them to myself, and then forward that on to RTR, he can post it here. We're still sans digital camera, and although I know how to email pics from my phone, my expertise stops there.
I'm gonna do that now, so if that's OK, RTR, I'll wait for your say-so to forward it on to you.
The picture quality should be ok, as it's a 2 mega pixel camera, but it'll be nowhere near as good as some of the other pics on this forum

Actually, just read that last post, and I know what you mean....his gut is bulbous, and stays like that even after a fasting day, whereas with Mags, she looks stuffed after a feed and then slims down to looking curvy.
Robert just looks like he's got a huge beer gut.

Sorry Rocker, my interest in shoes - well developed and well known as it is - only extends to size four. I'm afraid it's time to bite the bullet and go public. You could always rename yourself Amanda by Night.

Cindy's bang on when she says the fatness is along the sides as well..it sometimes looks like his gut's bifurcated with two pouches nearly melded into one.
