Hey guys I got Nooki back on May 15th and he was a little under 2" (closer to 1.5") we are now in month 4 and he is measuring about 4.5 - 5" (tried to measure a moment ago but he is a bugger for begging and wont let me do it properly ). Just to check I am on track? As I know the general consensus is they grow about an inch a month though also aware that in any species growth can be down to individuals, environment, diet etc. He does get fed almost every day with one day break a week, with good mixture if foods and vit dosing. So on the right track or a little small?

funnily enough i was saying the exact same thing to suzanne yesterday amy
when i got abe he was about the sz of your nookie
and he is 4.5-5 inches now
hes well fed..
but definately isnt growing the one inch a month..

hes in a big tank alone, so couldnt be stunted
hes growing definately, but slowly

would like to hear if its normal.

Mine is growning at about the same rate. I think I got Bloat in July at about 2in's and now he is about the same size wise. So I think we are all doing well.

Oh and I think Vicious is on the same track as the rest of us(Ohyouknows fahaka)

Thanks guys, you have put my mind at rest! I know it generally is a potential to grow an inch a month, but was a tad worried. Aw it is sweet we all have toddlers together! Mine is definitely pudgey cutie lol

I concur I dont think the inch a month is entirely accurate.

I got mine during mid june, measuring 2-2.5 inches. Its exactly 3 and a half months now. He's exactly at 5.5 inches. So that makes 3 to 3.5 inches in 3 and a half mths. He's been growing short of at an inch/mth until recently he got into a growth spurt. Seem to grow half an inch in a week plus. He never stops eating. I think an inch a month is plausible given that he he has high protein food and good water changes to keep his appetite up.

Another query on Nooki now. I ave certainly noticed a "teenage" Nooki lately as he sulks and demands more, that doesnt concern me. One thing he has been doing is inspecting the back wall of the tank closely. Not pacing but really inspecting - should I be concerned? I dont think there would be a reflection as there is backing and he doesnt do it to the sides
of the tank?

Time for redecoration perhaps??
