now that you mention grooming, may I ask a question?

I have a dachshund..and he has black nails. When I first got him he came from a bad situation and had super long nails. I tried to cut them, and I nipped one too close ..and it took 15 minutes and super glue to stop the bleeding...

So, now I am super paranoid...his nails are black so I can't see when I might be getting too close..

So I bought one of those electric sanders (for dogs LOL)...but I am still paranoid...

Do you have any tips?

I tried that sander on my cats.. it doesn't work! They freak out because of the noise! So now I use it to re-buff furniture that they have scratched ;)

also in the CM you'll notice that the machine isn't on and the dog is so calm.. I personally think they are BS

I'm usually pretty good at judging the quick by the curve of the nail. If you look at the back of the nail, you can see where it starts. I always have Quick Stop (styptic powder) ready in the lid, to pop some on in case I nick the quick. Stops the bleeding instantly.

So you're a groomer? Cool profession. My DD was a groomer at the same clinic where I was manager for several years. She wanted to do that instead of go to college right out of HS. Worked out well!

do you have a website?

Sounds silly, but you want people to let you in their homes...meaning if they "knew" you a little more, they may be more inclined to give you a call instead of going to a brick and mortar shop.

Re-do you business cards to include your website link..Create a website....it only needs to be a page or two..and then pack it full of pictures of you with before and after grooming pictures of the dogs...

Even though you have tattoos (and you may need to cover some of them for the website-for the prudes out there) you still have a good image...you smile nice and you look trustworthy...which would make you appealing..you could cash in on that with a website..

Also what is your color scheme and, do you service a niche market? Knowing your customers will help you perfect your image to make you more appealing to them.

Just my opinion, I want you to get more work, you are in a competitive market :)
