I am horabley confused i have been told one thing by one person and another thing by another please help me i own a green spotted puffer and all the infermation i have goti is realy confuseing

what questions do you have? There is a TON of info in the puffpedia

Have you read the Pufferpedia blurbs and the multiple Library articles here? There is an awful lot of good information on GSPs in those two sources.

well like for one are they bracksh water or saltwater?
Behaver why would he be swimming up and down and side to side to with a grayst black belly?
why dose he have a bend in is spin and a dent in his side?(no he or she is not a walmart fish)
how can i tell if he or she is happy?
do they always stay at the bottum the tank and not move much?

most of the questions that you have asked are answered in the articles recommended above
have you read any of them?
if you feel that your puffer is ill or unhappy, then the hospital section is where you should ask about that

yes i have but im still a little lost see when i bought mine he wasnt round nor did he come to the glass and great me

how long have you had him?

right now his in a five gallion tank soon to be in a ten gallion
i bought hime earler in september
he has been eating shrimp brain shrimp cubes and the ocational guppy hs got to catch them first
yes he has a cuple tank mates just two
found out he loves to play in bubbles>.< witch is very fun to see him doi would think the little bubbles would tickle him

Why don't you make a post in the hospital section. There is a list of questions at the top of the page for you to answer

A 5gal is much to small for any GSP. A 10gal is too small as well. Do you have a 30gal or larger tank that it can have to itself?

Below is an article on feeding your puffer but here are some ideas for you:

A ten gallon tank is far to small. He will be the size of a nerf football. He may turn gray if he is stressed out, he may also pace the glass because he is stressed.

As far as salt water. You need to understand that some fish are not simply fresh or salt water. In their natural habitat they go from marine waters to brackish waters to fresh waters. GSPs, in the wild live most of their adult lives in high brackish water or full marine. Therefore to keep a GSP healthy and happy you need to have him in high brackish water or full marine. HOWEVER, before you attempt to add salt, you must first understand the bacteria cycle going on in your tank, because if you add to much salt at one time you will crash your tank.

And the type of salt you need is Marine salt...not table salt or sea salt you find at the grocery store.

Can you answer these questions?

1) Your water parameters - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates and salinity (if appropriate). This is by far the most important information you can provide! Do not answer this with "Fine" "Perfect" "ok", that tells us nothing. We need hard numbers.

2) Tank size and a list of ALL inhabitants. Include algae eaters, plecos, everything. We need to know what you have and how big the tank is.

3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank (examples: Cycle, Amquel, salt, etc)

4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so. Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.

5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? If you don't know what cycling is read this: Fishless Cycling Article and familiarize yourself with all the information. Yes. All of it.

well i dont know the answer to the firest question but as for the tank i was told that if i capt him in a smaller tank the would stay smalli ad a little sae salt at a time

He will stay small in a smaller tank however it will kill him quickly and that's not very nice.
