Hello,
I've seen a website which sells White Worms as a live food for fish. These worms are thought to be small and easy to keep.
This is where I saw them advertised-

I have no clue about the white worms but have you been feeding blood worms and brine shrimp?

Oh yes! It's the smell of week old Bloodworm in my fridge which gets me started in the day!
I have a LFS which provides these delights but they fade within a week and my weekends are dominated with getting fresh stuff in. I mainly feed with Pond Snails collected from LFS stores and also breed Daphnia. Pond Snails must be small as the bigger ones get bitten, die and then become foul. Little ones get chomped in one hit. Puff doesn't eat Ramshorns though; strange fish.
I thought these White Worms would be kept in my Basement and last for months so ending many trips to the LFS and giving my life back.

Are you using Bloodworms (immature form of a midge fly) or live blackworms (which may be red, but are really worms)?

They are sold as Bloodworm and are in liquid. They stink too.
The LFS have packs of live Brine, Glass worm etc.
I have been wondering whether Blackworm was a variant of a Bloodworm or another word for Bloodworm.
Can you explain??

Blackworms are totally different from bloodworms.

So, have you not been keeping your frozen food frozen? It'll go bad pretty fast that way.

My DP will only eat Live food so the idea of frozen is just so beneath her.
Frozen food is usually eaten first by my 2 Otos or snails or bacteria or even farther time before my DP will touch frozen.
I haven't tried the starving method as I have heard that this sometimes winds up with a "starved to death" DP.
White worms as I have mentioned before could be kept in storage in the basement for months and the worms are small so maybe ok???

Just buy frozen packs of bloodworm, you can get foil sealed blister packs, no more smell.

I have the white worms in a pot of dirt and have tried them with my Dp and it's a success.
Puff has been acting like a crazy killing machine lately and has started eating my MTS and Ramshorns (freaking psycho fish at the mo! ).
Not sure how to separate the dirt from the snails??
I've scraped some from the side of the pot so far; not sure on the hygeine side.

Real Bloodworms are the aquatic larvae of a midge fly, so one life stage of an insect. They inhabit very cool highly aerated water.

Blackworms (which are commonly reddish) are true worms found in shallow slightly coolish waters. Aquarium Balckworms are cultured commercially. They should not be confused with tubifex worms, which are not safe aquarium food IME. Those are generally a dweller in reasonably aerated sewage run-off.

Those white worms look like an easy food source to grow yourself. You can even gut load them, trying out different foods and giveing them vitamines.
How big of a pot do you have them in and keep us updated on how the population does. I know some people that breed cichlids and would be enterested in those.

These White Worms have come in a 500ml tub and I might put them in a pot of compost to breed some more.
I'm not sure how long they can stay in water before expiring.

Blackworms seem a good bet but I have Googled "Blackworms" for websites in the UK but can't find any to buy. I can get Bloodworm ok.

Puff does eat these White Worms so that' something. Phew!!
