Figure 8, stomach lump?

I'm relatively new to figure 8 puffers. I've had my little guy for about a month, keeping him in the low side of brackish, around 1.002, slowly changing from the freshwater from the LFS.
I've noticed that when he eats he gets a lump on his left side near his belly. I figure it was just his stomach expanding... it it normal for the lump to be on one side only?
I've seem pictures of full puffers and it seems that the entire belly is swollen.
I'm feeding him freeze-dried krill, with occasional red earthworm worm (i have home worm compost).
I'll try to take a picture of him soon, but until then any ideas?
Thanks!

Totally normal--just a food lump.

My F8 gets lumpy more to the left as well, but it seems to have gotten less pronounced as he's grown (or I've become more accustomed to it).

With ribless fish such as puffers, it is too easy to see the latest meal!

Maybe we would all eat less if humans showed that as puffers do...

When I first got my DPs I noticed a lump on their left side when I would feed them. At first I was worried and thought I might be overfeeding them (which might be the case.) But now that they're no longer so terribly skinny (and I feed them a bit less) It's harder to notice a lump. They just get more plump when they eat.

Heh, my puffs are pigs, they just round out after meals.

I've noticed that both of my GSPs have a lump on the lower left side of their bellies immediately following a heavy meal. It rounds off after a short time though.

My F8 puffer has a very large lump on his left side for 5 days now ... he's not eating or leaving his favourite spot ... today I saw him banging his lump against objects ... I'm really worried he's going to die does anybody have an idea what could be wrong
