Hey peeps, someone literally few roads away is selling advertised a congo puffer as they are converting! I cant get round to them just yet to view it and have only one picture but what do you guys think as I dont know the first time I saw it suvatti bells went off (I guess still sore from the store trying to sell me a suvatti as a congo ) The asking price is £40 which is pretty cheap and advised starting to take dead food

The correct latin name was given but something just says suvatti or am I barking the wrong tree?>

Does this puffer have the arrow on its head?

Thanks Corvus, yes that is what I have been looking for in the picture but only have the above to go by, may have to wait to visit in person to have a proper look. Thanks for the clear pics, those are some really clear ones. Will see if I can make it round this weekend and go from there. Wil keep you guys posted of findings, if it is a congo I think I may have to snap it up!

That puffer looks very much like a suvattii to me. The mouth and the shape of the head, even the colouring says "suvattii" to me. And, as Corvus says, most suvattii have a very clear "arrow" on the top of their head.

Nothing wrong with a suvattii though, I've got two and I rather like them. They aren't very active, mostly laying in the sand waiting for a meal, but I still rather like them.

I would also say a suvattii. He has some patterns on his side that is very suvattii.

I love the longer snout of the Pignose!

They really are cute, but most people think they are ugly. They have cool personalities too, at least mine do.

Thanks for IDing for me. In the end I have gone with a hairy puffer as the guy who owns the puff above couldnt bare to part with him (cant blame him!) He is still convinced a congo though so I will leave him to it lol (paid a pretty price from what I gather ouch!)

Good for you on the Hairy puffer, can't wait to see photos when you get him. And as for the other puffer, I've known people who have thought they have one puffer when they really have something else -- they don't want to admit that they're wrong about the species of puffer they've bought.
