any experience from you guys with fresh water dipping? i believe that my sharp nose puffer died from flukes he had all the symptoms i just did not know at the time and how do you FW dip a puffer ........... and i also believe that my banded sleeper goby has flukes can i fw dip gobies because i have read info saying not to do it.............

Medicated dips are ok ... but I don't know much about SW to FW dips..

I FW dipped my puffer a couple times for 20 minutes while with ich. He really just sat there calm. Didn't see much stress. You can match pH if you want but definitely match temperature. I'm not sure what response flukes take from a dip tho...

I believe dips should be 30 minutes or more, until they start to stress. All that does is rid them of the bug on their body. you mustn't put them back into the same tank after that or treat the whole tank.

I really think dipping for flukes is just putting off treating a problem - they're not going to go away from just a dip.

A store can do it to make a fish look clean before sale, or it can be done in order to make a fish more comfortable before treatment begins if an infestation is so heavy the stress from the parasites is greater than the stress from the dip will be.

I'd personally just use a strong dose of flubendazole and kill them all from get go without risking any stress.
