Which puffer for 75g?

I currently have a 75 gallon tank that's been up for over a year. I've had a dwarf puffer before and was thinking I'd like to get a few SAPs but what I read here seems a little discouraging about keeping them happy. I like the idea of a slightly larger puff than the dwarfs and I was hoping for some advice on what other type of puffer would work well. Appreciate the suggestions.

2 GSPs? F-8s?

you can always search the PufferPedia, but what is listed there and what you can get from the LFS are 2 different things ;)

I know I can get F8s and dwarfs. I don't think I want GSP--don't want to go that high brackish. There's another store that has SAPs and other random puffers (one labled avacado puffer). They can also order fish for me. I was hoping to stay freshwater but may consider F8s and go to a low brackish tank. Anybody have a favorite freshwater puffer to suggest?

You could do a couple of Avocado puffers in a 75 gallon.

Usually they are modestus..
ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/A_Modestus/

But they could be silus

Either way..

Very active! Very fun!

BUT!!!!

You must introduce puffers from the same batch, same size as juveniles if you want them to get along.

If you get like one or two puffs and then 1 month later get another...you will get a massacre

On that same note...once they mature you could have problems.

Another down side is their teeth growth- not as fast as a SAP, but still concerning!

And tank mates are probably out, especially when they mature.

If it were me I would go for the avocados just because I have always wanted one ;)

But if they only have 1, that would not be enough action for a 75, so I would wait until they get more!

I kept a large modestus with a 6" Royal pleco for many years.
