My fahaka, Ugly

He's currently in an 80G tank @ 9". Sold to me as 90G... never again..
Goes nuts every time I open the freezer door (where his food is), still adding on length every time I measure him.
Currently living with a 3" sajica, they seem to get on pretty good, the sajica cleans fahaka even.
Due to change in living situations I cannot upgrade the tank soon enough, which is needed sooner than later.
I've been feeling terrible about these days. I don't know how long I can keep him in here for.
P.S. If anyone around Toronto is looking for a fahaka, you should let me know.
I'd love to donate him to a good member here who's aware & educated on the matter of keeping a fahaka.

I hope you ethier find a way to get the bigger tank or find someone that is able to house him correctly

lol, i'll be the first one to tell you about my ineptitude with cameras.
yeah, I'm hoping a member here around the GTA (i know i've seen a few around) will step up because I can't upgrade for another year when I move. and even then I'll be out of the country for a while before that move so it just gets complicated chea

I'll take him if you'll pay for a new tank, filters, light, etc

Very misleading title .... because I was expecting to see some really weird looking Fahaka, but your guy is beautiful. I would have put more cover in the tank, plants, etc., but nothing wrong with your Fahaka at all.
I face a similar problem with my guy, so I definitely know how you feel. Mine needs a bigger home and right now, the tank I was going to put the Fahaka in, has my Mbu in and I can't get a home for my Mbu until I sell the tank that's in the spot where a bigger tank can fit. It's all very depressing, but never mind about me. I hope things work out for you with yours.

I know all too well how you feel.
All of last year I was fumbling around with enclosures in my square self-contained bachelor apartment when I was paring up some albino fat tailed gecko breeder couples. Different size and temperament played a factor, I found myself rather stressed over the otherwise easy to keep critters.
I am still jealous over the fact that some of you keep MBUs, and I'm sure many of us are. To be honest I like them so much more than fahakas.
I also think it's a good thing to take a step back and appreciate the awareness we have of our puffers, unlike so many owners out there. This website has done a fabulous job at advocating proper puffer keeping.
There's definitely value in keeping up with the bench mark,
so let's give ourselves a hand and good luck to us both!

You know, I have to agree with you. I am much more fond of my Mbu than my Fahaka. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, but BeeBoo, my Mbu has much more personality and is more agreeable towards me than Obie. Obie is becoming increasingly skittish and has jumped out of the tank again today, all because my dogs were playing.
