Hi everybody

i am relatively new to puffers although have kept a successful fish/coral tank for about 8 years now. Up until now i have stuck with small reef fish and even now stay with small puffers such as the jewel puffer etc. i hope to get to know people who share my fondness for marine fish and especially the puffer as i don't know as much about these charactaristic fish as i would like to. i have already posted one question earlier with regards to species confusion lol. nice to meet you all. Thanks. I did do a fair bit of research before i got my puffers but a lot of information can be quite contradictive. one query being my other post regarding species ID. long story short one site says one name another site says completely different. i'm hoping real puffkeepers views and advice will be more accurate and genuine. Anyway thanks for your reply

Thankyou any reason why you havn't taken the plunge into marine?

Mainly because I've got 19 freshwater tanks and I really don't have the space for any other tanks -- and I feel that I need to fine-tune my freshwater fishkeeping before I venture onto something else. I still have so much to learn yet.

19 tanks??? where on earth do you find the time and space? sounds like an addiction. Hats off to you. belive it or not i have never had a freshwater tank. a friend of mine had a mixed fish/invert tank and that was it. i had to have one. touch wood i havn;t had any major problems yet. apart from water tests and changes it seems to do best when left alone which suits me fine. the only thing i would change if i could is the cost. I will post a few pics when i figure out how. Not good with computers unfortunately. 19??? i'm still in shock.

Let me just say that it is indeed hard work, but thankfully I don't have a job, so this is technically my "job". As for the space, well I've made good use of the small space we have. It's a bit crowded in here, but we don't mind. I do feel sorry for my big dog as she doesn't know where to turn at times. I would agree that it is an addiction ... but compared with other things I've spent time and money on, this is a good thing for me.
