My new 30g for my GSP Biggie/Tank Evolution Pics

When I got my gsp Biggie I thought my tank was a 30g but it turns out it was only 25g. I really wanted a 55g for him but found an excellent deal on a 30g for only 20 bucks.

He went from this...

to this...

He seems to be adjusting pretty well to the new tank and has even done some re-decorating of his own. The seashell pictured below was lying flat. I wasn't away from his tank for more than 5 minutes and came back to see the shell upright and him dashing away from the scene. I would have loved to witnessed him achieving this.

He's still a bit shy when I'm around the tank except for feeding time. Although, he still seems to wait until he knows my eyes are averted to eat. Smart little booger!

Lucky puffer and you for scoring a great tank for so cheap! Sounds like you need to set up a puffer-cam to document his redecorating activities. :)

Persistence pays off. I check craigslist every day to look at aquarium/fish tank listings and frequent garage sales. Believe me I don't need another tank, but if a good deal comes along I'm ready to jump on it.

I think I may set up a spy on the puff cam. His shell is lying flat today. :?

I got a few more pounds of lace rock I plan to add soon and a few small plants. Biggie also got 5 little ghost shrimp friends today. He was interested for a few seconds but hasn't paid much attention to them since. I hope they don't get complacent.

Will share some pics as soon as I add the new decor.

Well, I addded a few new pieces of rock today and a few small plants. The little rock structure on the right is cave like and provides shade from the tank light. There are also several little swim-throughs in the larger rock structures on the left. It was a bit challenging making sure all spaces were big enough for Biggie to pass through.

I'm still not completely satisfied with the layout yet but figured it would do for now. I don't want to be perceived as the disruptor. :scared:

p.s. Maybe next time I post I can include an actual puff in the pic. He's so dog gone hard to photograph.

lol poor Jeeps!
I've found quite a few tanks, they just go really fast. It's like, you have to select what areas (cities) on CL you are willing to go to ASAP - and lurk... Do your best to be the first to call, and first to offer cash to buy.

I loved the last decor, despite it has artificial stuff in it, it looks more natural, I prefer a greeny decor than a colorful one (no offenses please!). That's why I always use rocks and green plastic plants in my GSP tank.

No offense taken. Natural is my first choice too. However, I've always wanted to do a tank with nothing but loads of cheesy aquarium decor. Kind of like a little underwater junkyard.

Now that's my kind of tank! The kitschier, the better as far as I'm concerned. My fancy goldfish tank has a bubbling volcano with red uplight, bamboo wall, tiki statues, etc. And my DP tank is a pirate wonderland featuring shipwreck, skeleton bubbler steering a ship's wheel, treasure chest, skull cave, etc.

They're not everyone's idea of great-looking tanks, but I loves me my tacky stuff.

Can't wait to see one of your pics with Biggie in it! He sounds adorable.

I think a tank is each person's expression of what they like ... it shouldn't follow any specific "design". I prefer natural-looking tanks ... but that's MY preference, not everyone's. I think it's more interesting when we each do what we like instead of what everyone else has. :)

I got busted looking at decorations at work cos I burst out laughing at the below... was tempted to do a 'post apocalyptic flood' theme but decided not to as the tank's not big enough.

There are others, rusted pipe "New for 2010", and a vw bug where the bonnet goes up when it's plugged into an air pump, etc LOL
