Meat should always be the first ingredient if you're looking for a good food, grain and rice and cereal should either not be in there at all or be low on the ingredient list.
Felix is probably the worst wet food, it has only 7% meat meal.. which isn't even meat it's all the gunk.
Where I live, Pet's at home shop brand with 50-60% fresh chicken is best.
You just have to look about really, it's not always the most expencive which are best, but usually the ones which are sold everywhere like felix and whiskers are the worst.
Shops own brands can be very good.
When we first got all our cats I researched every cat food I could find near me and we got the best dry food along with the best wet food.
We got Royal canin persian 32 and Pet's at home pouches..
They hated the pouches though and will only eat Felix (the worst one I found) lol.
But Royal Canin is a good dry food if you're looking for those. All cats I know LOVE them and they're pretty good.
Iam's (although not a bad food) I would never buy because they test on animals and have lab's full of suffering cats and dogs.

also consider dry food...............
their teeth & gums will benefit from it, and you will not be paying a lot of money for water, and in some cases, excessive fat
in any case, wet or dry food, be sure they have plenty of fresh water to drink at all times

I think that Evo is very well-liked. Remember that expensive, high-quality food doesn't cost as much as you'd think - when you're feeding mostly the good stuff instead of mostly grain and fillers, you can feed much smaller quantities.

I agree with lilgreenpuffer on that one.. the better it is even if it's expencive is more filling and you won't have to feed as much as a cheaper one.
And although I would never feed my cats sweet potatoes, broccoli, alfalfa sprouts, carrots, apples, blueberries, cranberries, barley, oats, millet, brown rice, Eggs and cheddar cheese. (all those sound like seriously awful cat foods).. the main ingredient is actually chicken so their website makes it sound bad but I'm sure it's not.. I still couldnt feed it to mine though most cats can't eat cheese or egg without being ill & I've no idea about veg.. mine wouldn't touch a vegetable

Sadly, the owners of Naturapet, makers of Innova, Evo, Healthwise, and California Natural, sold out last month

To Proctor and Gamble

Not a company I would trust with the welfare of my pets, given their disgusting history of animal abuse under the guise of testing...

Hmm, some of our cats prefer cerial and some don't. I usually put down some of the 'Pets at home' wet food and some dry so they can choose. It's quite difficult with seven mogs to give enough but not too much food
Keep finding half eaten mice and birds outside, too. One of then has a penchant for licking blinds and they all want the food on your plate. I can be surrounded and mealtimes sometimes!
They get the odd feshly caught salmon or seatrout from time to time...

My cat had been getting Evo, but since they sold, I might have to change next time I buy a bag. We try to get her to eat wet and dry, but she only eats bits of the wet. I hear good arguments from both sides.
My vet said dry gets much fewer problems with outdoor cats who supplement their own diets and get much more exercise, but indoor cats (Like Jones) would benefit from eating some wet to keep her kidneys/urinary track in better order.

For most cats, indoor or outdoor, a mix of wet & dry food is good. Always with water to drink - not milk. Personally, I give my cats Royal Canin or Hills. Most of the lifestage diets are much of a muchness TBH. I wouldn't touch Felix or Iams with a bargepole - due to 15 years as a vet nurse & seeing bladder/urinary tract problems exacerbated by these brands.

But what if that's the only food your cats would eat and try to bury every other like poop?
I agree I hate Felix food.. but we've tried all the others we can get our hands on.. and done it for about a week each we can't starve them so just end up giving them Felix in the end..
We do get the most expencive Felix which actually looks like meat though "as good as it looks".. and not the goo square chunk stuff or that supermeat .. oh my gosh, NEVER buy supermeat, the people across the road feed our old outdoor cat supermeat and told us she liked it.. so we bought some and it's the worst stuff I ever saw.. it's got gritty bone bits in there and fat lumps0 and it STINKS. Urgh.

Pretty funny, all the posts on this, considering the OP was probably a spammer...

Nevertheless, an interesting topic for cat owners!

I've had several friends who were vet techs. They ALL make their own food for both cats and dogs. Also, other than various foods from Hikari, I make my own food for my goldies. It's the best there is. If you have goldies, I suggest it. They have some good recipes at kokosgoldfish.
But my poor cats are currently stuck with that expensive Iams special diet food that they eat only grudgingly because one of them had a urinary problem a month or two ago. I do give them some treats, though.
