Wow long title ^^
Hey guys! Okay, I'm turning my 30 gallon tank into a 30 gallon white cloud mountain biotope, found in the fast flowing mountain streams in China. The fish native to this area which will be the main focus,
white cloud mountain minnows. My inspiration:
Practical Fish Keeping.co.uk
Other future inhabitants, not specific to this biotope, but there really aren't others so alittle artistic hand is needed.
colony of red cherry shrimp (start out with 5)
butterfly hillstream loach (if my LFS carry them) OR (if not available)
bristlenose pleco
When I first set up the tank: July 12
July 13 Second Update:
July 15, 3rd Update (last one SO FAR...)
Feel free to leave comments!

Both tanks are looking really nice. Interesting to see that you were inspired by Practical Fishkeeping.

Are you going to put a background on the first tank? I found one that's just rocks, and it looks quite good because it's on a tank that sits in front of a window, and the light from the window lights it up and makes the tank look all bright.

Hey. Both tanks look great. Only issue I see is 5 gallons is far to small for two DPS. I wouldnt put anymore then one in there. General rule is about 5g/puffer. Two would be quite cramped. The 30g looks amazing. Looking forward to more pics on both

Well, as I said in my original post, I got one of all big boulders and it looks really good, lets in a lot of light too. I just thought something like that, because you've already got some nice rocks in there, would look good and keep up with the scheme of things.

I'd have to disagree. Ever since moving them to the 5 gallon I have never seen them so happy, colorful, and non-territorial. Both have brilliant colors and enjoy hunting snails around the main rocks. It does seem like they have a mini territory, Bug stays in the front most of the time and Tad in the back, but I also catch them in each others' hunting together.

SammyDee, those are cool! I'll look into one.
Got some fish today: gonna go back later this week or whenever to get the hillstream loaches. They have about 5 but are on hold.
Today I got: a powerhead (fish LOVE)
6 white cloud mountain minnows
4 halfbeaks (can't sex quite yet, too spooked yet)

That 'Bright Stone' one is similar to one that I got and I was thinking would look good on your tank Lil' Swimz$ - the tank with the large rocks in it (first pic).

Ya that does look good. I'll look into it.
I'm really liking these halfbeaks. It turns out I have wrestling halfbeaks, and 3 males 1 female (not good)
