Figure 8 stocking.

Vacation is over so i wanted to start converting my figure 8 tank to brackish.
Hubby came with the idea to maybe add another 2 figure 8's to the tank before converting since the lfs only weens there figure 8 to brackish if they dont sell them quickly (they get them in on fresh). And maybe do a round of deworming before the convertion.

I have 2 small figure 8's in a 180 liter tank (Juwel rio 180) with external Eheim pro 2 pump.

What do you think?

I guess you could squeeze them in there, but one more might be safer. You can deworm during the conversion with no problem, I should think. Salt has no effect on internal parasites, at least not to my knowledge.

3 F8s should be fine in there but don't you maybe want some other kind of fish with them? A dragon goby or pair of knight gobies would be cool.

Dragon gobies prefer a higher SG and get pretty big, though, don't they?

I looked up some pics of the 2 gobies species mentioned, but hubby doesnt like them. (he preferes more color). so unless the pics i saw where very dull he doesnt like them)
And i saw a pic of a Dragon gobie of almost 25 cm. I think thats a bit too big for my tank.
(100l x 40w x 50h cm)

Hubby does like the bumblebee gobie. I always liked the look of those but never had them. The info i founded wasnt accurate on the internet so many difrences in it that i dont trust it. So looking at my specs will it do with a couple of the BB gobies?

The specs of the tank at this moment is (freshwater):
ph 7
kh 4
gh 8
no2 0
no3 10
nh3 0

When i move to Germany my water there will be something like this (specs from my Clowns tank which is there already):
ph 8
kh 4
gh 12
no2 0
no3 (I prefilter there because tap has 50mg/l nitrate there, so i can add as low as 0)
nh4 0

So what do u think?

lol, My figure 8's are actually afraid of my dwarfs. Hubby made a mistake when placing the dwarfs in there new bigger tank, he putted the biggest male in with the figure 8's.

Sometimes i have the feeling i choose the the ones who are the most scared of anything.

Gonna call the store to see if they have any in, or some figure 8's. and give it a try.

No matter what you do, quarantine the new fish so they don't bring in diseases and kill your existing fish!

Not gonna add any right now the once they had where too tiny for my liking. instead we bought a fahaka (not home yet) and a new tank and stand. I posted about that in the giant species.
