Guys, anyone can help me identify something on my palembang's body,



Is it a disease, scar from battle, or just normal sign? thanks

I dont have a clue, but when i first looked at the picture i though it was of a rock lol

Is this puffer new to you? Looks like battle wounds from a larger puffer biting him. Clean water & you could add Melafix for better healing.

I think this might be another indication that you should separate those Palembang's.

yes, absolutly i'll seperate them from my tank but is it sure 100% scar from battle? from all my puffer she's the biggest among them, but i got 2 puffer with almost the same scar, the other one near her back And for melafix, any other option? cause never heard it here, el bayu? pomate? any of them are the same? thanks

Yes, 100% sure it's battle scars.

Melafix is a low-concentration of tea tree oil. I don't know how it would work if you were to make up your own solution.

She is a tough puffer! She's lucky she didn't loose that eye.
When I got my Turgidus he had a bite mark at the base of his caudal fin. I treated with Melafix and clean water and within a couple of weeks he was healed.
I make my own Melafix or "Melafake" using water soluble tea tree oil and distilled water. The recipe I use calls for 99% water and 1% tea tree oil.

Oh gosh, yeah, that eye was almost a goner.

Those are very typical bite marks from another puffer. Those teeth they have are nasty!

thanks guys, now i'm trying to find new home for some of them >.< Today i dont see new scar from her, and the scar seems healed abit from last time i saw her last friday for the melafix, maybe i'll try too look for some info here since i dont know wat's the other name for tea tree oil here can i just put some freshwater salt in my tank? And wanna ask something about palembang, in pufferpedia it said that good temperature for palembang is 26 rite? but does 26 avoid white spot or any other disease? my tank's temperature is like 28-30 now, should i lower the temperature? thanks

A higher temperature will speed up the life cycle of whitespot (ich) and once you attain and sustain a temperature of 89.5 it will kill the whitespot parasite ..... but I'm curious why you are asking about this? Do you suspect your puffers have whitespot?
I don't believe a high tank temperature will help with prevent any other diseases. Regular water changes and keeping the water pristine is your best defense against health problems.
I try to keep my tanks below 27C, although when it's warm that's not always possible. If you have your heater set up high, then yes, I would lower the temp.

already checked them today, but not find any white spot on them. Actually i'm asking about the best temperature for my palembang, if i lower the temp to 26C, will it boost my palembang's growth? cause i live in tropical country, my normal tank will get about 30C. For now i already have 1 12V DC Fan and can lower my temp to 28-29, so if 26C can boost my palembang's growth, then i'll put another fan .
